Glaciologist Jonny Kingslake, an assistant professor at Columbia’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, will lead a family-friendly program, sharing insights and photographs from his research trips to Antarctica. In language aimed at younger attendees, he will explain how the study of past and present ice flow in the Antarctic ice sheet is key in predicting sea-level rise.
A Q&A session will follow Kingslake’s presentation.
Please note, while this event’s content is geared toward children ages 10-15, all alumni and their families are welcome.
